What you will drive
Our Mission:
Buildings account for over a third of greenhouse gas emissions in the US and globally. The most viable pathway for decarbonizing the built environment is to replace fossil fuel appliances with efficient, electric alternatives (e.g. replacing a gas furnace with a heat pump), and then powering those electric appliances with carbon-free electricity. Billions in incentives are available each year to make upgrades more affordable, yet finding and claiming funds is time-consuming, costly, and risky for potential participants. Furthermore, these programs are expensive to administer for incentive providers. Rock Rabbit delivers an AI-powered API and app to make it fast, easy and reliable for participants to find and claim rebates, tax credits and financing for electrification projects. Rock Rabbit also partners directly with incentive providers to make these programs more equitable and cost-effective to administer. Rock Rabbit integrates the highly fragmented landscape of actors, processes & data to drastically reduce friction across the value chain - ultimately accelerating the rate of building decarbonization.
About the Business:
We are building an AI-powered data and workflow SaaS platform to accelerate building decarbonization. Our platform allows for streamlined discovery, application, and ultimately end-to-end management of incentives and financing. With a small team and in only one year, we have built out our core product suite, closed dozens of contracts, been accepted into multiple accelerators, won multiple awards, processed millions of dollars in incentive funds, and attracted top tier venture capital investors. We are now rapidly expanding across the nation.
About the Role:
Rock Rabbit is seeking a self-starting, systems-minded problem solver to work cross-functionally in support of our customers and to help prepare our operations for scale.
In this role, you will partner closely with our Customer Operations, Analyst, Data Science, and Product teams to support users and translate challenges into actionable process improvements. You will manage, submit, and track energy efficiency rebate applications across utility, state, and federal programs, serving as a trusted point of contact for contractors, homeowners, and program administrators. You will also apply your program expertise to maintain and expand our rebate database, ensuring program requirements, eligibility rules, documentation standards, and timelines are accurate, structured, and up to date.
Beyond day-to-day application management, you will play a key role in strengthening internal systems — identifying gaps, improving documentation, and ensuring our processes are accurate, efficient, and scalable. You will act as a connective layer between Customer Operations and Analyst teams, helping ensure that program requirements, documentation standards, and workflows remain up to date as we grow. You will help identify patterns and logic to transition these manual workflows into AI-driven, automated systems, eventually overseeing the agentic workflows that will handle high-volume submissions.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building structure, and wants to help scale clean energy incentives nationwide. It will also be a great opportunity for an early career professional looking to get into the weeds and learn more about operations, product, and analysis at an early stage climate tech company.
This is a 3 month contract position with the opportunity to extend/ expand based on fit, performance and company needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
Prepare, review, and submit energy efficiency rebate applications on behalf of customers and partners across utility, state, and federal programs.
Act as the primary liaison for contractors, homeowners, and program administrators — providing timely updates, resolving issues, and ensuring a seamless claims experience.
Track and manage application pipelines, proactively responding to status changes, requests for clarification, and rejections with a solution-oriented mindset.
Identify and implement process improvements that streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance the customer experience.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Operations, Analyst, and Product teams to onboard, activate, and support new users.
Analysis
Serve as a subject matter expert on building decarbonization programs, policies, and technologies — translating program rules into structured eligibility logic and maintaining and expanding our proprietary rebate database.
Monitor and synthesize program updates (eligibility criteria, submission guidelines, funding caps, deadlines) and operationalize changes across internal workflows.
Ensure documentation integrity by verifying that all submissions are complete, accurate, and compliant with evolving program requirements.
Engineering & Automation
Partner with Data Science, Engineering and Product teams to prototype and refine AI-driven automation tools
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex requirements into clear guidance for non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with clients, contractors, or external partners.
Proficient with spreadsheets, CRMs, and web-based application systems.
High follow-through and proactive communication; comfortable juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
Availability during core working hours (9am-2pm PST). Occasionally during high volume instances, availability until 5pm PST may be required.
Nice to Have:
Passion for clean energy, sustainability, or decarbonization
Familiarity with incentive programs such as TECH Clean California, EnergyStar, HEEHRA, or local utility rebates.
Experience in program administration, rebate processing, energy efficiency, HVAC, or a related field.
Knowledge of heat pump technologies, HVAC installations, or building electrification.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) for customer communications.
Compensation
The U.S. base salary range for this position is $40/hr - $45/hr. This range represents Rock Rabbit’s good faith estimate of competitively-priced hourly rate for the role based on national, real-time industry data from companies of a similar growth stage. Within the range, individual pay is determined by location and individual factors including relevant skills, experience and education or training.
