Impact Analyst, Waste Sector

• Support the Waste Program Manager in developing, executing, and tracking waste-sector satellite tasking to ensure impact objectives and priorities are met.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of methane emissions, emissions inventories, and related sectoral data, translating findings into clear, actionable narratives for predominantly non-scientific audiences.
• Maintain internal documentation and tracking systems to support impact measurement, relationship management, and information sharing for waste-sector priorities and initiatives.
• Support the Impact team by engaging with waste-sector stakeholders to communicate Carbon Mapper's work, identify areas for collaboration, and coordinate follow-up as needed.

This role helps expand the use and understanding of Carbon Mapper's methane data to drive meaningful emissions reductions in the waste sector, contributing to global climate change mitigation efforts.

• Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 2–3 years of experience working on projects related to methane, greenhouse gases, or environmental issues (e.g., water quality).
• Proficiency in data analysis, including an understanding of basic statistical methods and experience using data analysis tools such as R, Python, and/or Jupyter Notebooks.
• Strong research and quantitative analysis skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights, and excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
