Mission

What you will drive

  • Serve as a trusted resource for staff, supporting employees' professional growth and coordinating regular staff engagement opportunities through surveys, open feedback sessions, and stay interviews.
  • Oversee and administer the organization's HR policies and procedures to support consistency, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist managers with the recruiting, hiring, onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Administer all employee benefits, including management of new hire enrollment, benefits renewals, and annual open enrollment cycles.
  • Partner with leadership and managers in developing retention strategies, professional development, and succession plans to prevent undesired turnover and advance smooth employment transitions.
  • Support the performance evaluation process and assist managers with team members who are facing challenges.
  • Maintain AV's HRIS system in BambooHR, which includes all employee files.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Minimum of three to five years of Human Resources experience in the above areas, with preference for prior non-profit HR experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, a related degree with equivalent experience, or other HR trainings and certifications
  • Strong knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll processes, IRS and multi-state payroll regulations, and benefits options
  • Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to act with humility, empathy, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to act independently on HR tasks and initiatives, but collaborate across the organization as needed
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, G-Suite, HRIS, or related software
