• Identify storytelling opportunities that demonstrate ABC's mission and mobilize audiences to take actions that advance conservation and revenue generation.
• Report, research, and write digital content including news stories and blog posts, with an emphasis on habitat and conservation practices.
• Collaborate with the Graphic Designer and Multimedia Producer to incorporate compelling visuals into web stories and other content.
• Support editorial planning, fact-checking, and proofreading across ABC's communications ecosystem, including web, email, social media, and magazine.

This role amplifies American Bird Conservancy's conservation message, inspiring action to protect birds and their habitats across the Americas, thereby contributing to biodiversity and climate resilience.

• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with proven ability to transform technical information into engaging content for a lay audience.
• BA/BS or MA/MS in Journalism, English, or related field, ideally with ornithology/environmental/ecology coursework or background.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in content development (editing/writing/proofreading), preferably for an environmental, science, or policy organization.
• Knowledge of birds and bird biology resources required; familiarity with AP style strongly desired.

Salary estimated at $54,450 – $60,500 based on experience.
