Head of Philanthropy & Foundations

• Build and lead WePlanet's major foundations and HNWI fundraising programme from the ground up, cultivating and converting six- and seven-figure commitments.
• Design and own the entire major foundations and HNWI fundraising strategy, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Write or lead the writing of high-value proposals and shape compelling cases for support in partnership with programme leads.
• Manage the major-donor and major-foundation stewardship calendar, convene pitch teams, and line-manage the Grants Officer.

This role directly enables WePlanet to scale its evidence-based environmental campaigns—such as protecting the Southern Ocean, defending wolf populations, and advancing clean energy and sustainable agriculture—by securing the philanthropic funding needed to grow the organisation's impact.

• Substantial experience (typically 5+ years) in major gift, foundation or institutional fundraising at a mission-driven organisation, with a personal track record of securing six- or seven-figure commitments.
• Experience building a foundation or major donor pipeline from scratch, not just maintaining an existing one.
• Outstanding written and spoken English, strong proposal writing and strategic storytelling skills, and confident public speaking ability.
• Alignment with WePlanet's ecomodernist values, including comfort advocating for nuclear power, GMOs, and alternative proteins.

• Full-time, 2-year fixed term contract (direct or via EOR).
• Fully remote, must overlap with European working hours.
• Salary range: €64,900–€76,700 gross per year (adjusted by location).
• Opportunity to build a major philanthropy function from scratch in a small, ambitious, fully remote international team.
