Head of Nature-based Science

• Own and evolve goodcarbon's Nature Analytics Framework for quality assessment of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) projects.
• Lead a team of NbS scientists, set quality standards, and ensure rigorous application across client portfolios and sourcing decisions.
• Drive innovation in emerging credit types (biodiversity, blue carbon, soil carbon) and represent goodcarbon externally as a scientific authority.

This role ensures high-integrity Nature-Based Solutions are rigorously assessed and deployed, enabling companies to achieve net-zero goals while restoring ecosystems and biodiversity, directly contributing to climate change mitigation and nature conservation.

• Master's degree (required) or PhD (preferred) in environmental science, ecology, forestry, biology, or related field.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience, with substantial portion in voluntary carbon market and senior/leadership level.
• Deep expertise in NbS methodologies (REDD+, ARR, IFM, blue carbon, soil carbon) and verification standards (Verra VCS, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, ICVCM).
• Strong command of MRV principles, monitoring technologies, GIS/remote sensing tools (QGIS, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine), and data analysis (R, Python).
