Head of Legal

Core responsibilities:

• Build and lead Apollo's legal and compliance functions from the ground up
• Establish scalable systems and processes across UK, US, and select EU jurisdictions
• Set high-level strategic direction with hands-on execution across commercial contracting, corporate legal, employment/HR, IP protection, statutory reporting, fundraising support, and compliance management
• Design and own Apollo's legal function from first principles

This role helps ensure responsible development and deployment of frontier AI models by establishing robust legal and compliance frameworks for an AI safety company focused on preventing deceptive alignment and misuse of advanced AI systems.

Required skills and experience:

• Experience from in-house legal at AI and tech start-ups, or lawyers at Big Law or large technology companies
• Ability to handle commercial contracting, corporate legal, employment/HR, IP protection, statutory reporting, fundraising support, and compliance management
• Seeking greater ownership and impact in legal role
• Potential to grow into General Counsel role as legal group expands
