Head of Engineering

• Lead the engineering team in building robust software products that enable users to plan, deliver, and assure nature recovery.
• Own all aspects of how Verna builds products, including managing engineers, optimizing delivery, and turning product and research direction into software.
• Work hands-on with the team, leading architecture conversations and shaping how the team uses AI day-to-day.

This role directly tackles the nature and climate crises by building software that accelerates nature recovery worldwide, enabling corporates, public bodies, and NGOs to manage nature programmes more effectively.

• Exceptional engineering leadership experience, ideally in a startup environment.
• Strong people management skills and ability to lead a small, growing team.
• Hands-on technical skills to work through hard problems and lead architecture decisions.
• Experience with AI integration in software development is a plus.
