Job: Head of Bereavement Support Services and Counselling @ Sands
Responsibilities
- Lead the Bereavement Support Services Team to ensure excellent, individualized support for all approaching Sands
- Drive organizational and team strategies to make support accessible to bereaved families from all backgrounds and higher-risk groups
- Manage and support a team of approximately 16 home-based staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery
- Develop and maintain high-quality services responsive to changing stakeholder needs and embed best practices across the organization

Required skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience delivering and managing trauma-informed bereavement support services and counselling at a strategic level
- Excellent understanding of grief theory and bereavement support with relevant qualifications
- Experience working with and providing services for diverse communities, understanding their specific needs
- Excellent people management, communication, relationship-building, and empathy skills
- High-level project leadership skills and ability to produce complex statistical reports and analyze data
- Thorough understanding of safeguarding in the context of baby loss and commitment to excellent practice
