## Job Description

**THE ROLE**

This role sits within our Digital Experience and Brand team and reports to our Design Lead. As a Graphic Designer within Animals Australia, you will be responsible for interpreting briefs to produce powerful visual communication that enhances advocacy and operational messaging for a kinder world.

Working closely with other members of our Design team, you will support the visual and digital design needs of Animals Australia's print and online products. You will:

• Provide support to the broader team to assist in the effective use of our online tools, and to ensure that design elements of our work are executed at the highest quality

• Create compelling visuals that underpin our brave and memorable public awareness campaigns

• With a focus on modular digital design systems, create visual communication pieces that are responsive and accessible

• Support the broader team to use content management systems and design templates effectively with a focus on enhancing visual executions wherever possible

You will also contribute to VegKit, our plant-based food advocacy initiative, creating accessible, appealing materials that support kinder food choices.**

## Desired Skills and Experience

**ABOUT YOU**

You are an enthusiastic and creative graphic designer with proven experience across both print and digital, from long-form documents to outdoor advertising for large scale campaigns.

Our ideal person:

• Is a highly proficient Graphic Designer with an impactful portfolio of work across print and digital, supported by relevant qualifications or equivalent experience

• Has advanced skills in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and is confident in taking a brief from initial concept to final delivery

• Is highly capable in print production, including experience in preparing artwork, managing pre-press requirements, and working collaboratively with printers

• A thoughtful and empathetic communicator, able to listen deeply, incorporate and contribute to feedback, and work constructively with stakeholders to bring advocacy vision to life

• Is an organised, proactive, and self-driven person who is comfortable managing multiple projects and contributing to a kinder, more compassionate world for animals

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience in an NFP/For Purpose setting, and understand advocacy principles as they relate to persuasive design

• Can bring a working understanding of web technologies, including HTML/CSS, CMS platforms (WordPress/Squarespace), and designing for digital campaigns

• Are confident creating engaging social media content that has supported campaign goals

• Illustration experience will be highly regarded
