Grants & Nonprofit Strategy Lead (Volunteer)

Core responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of how 4WARD approaches grants and public funding, including researching and identifying relevant grants, foundations, and non-dilutive funding programs
• Translate the organization's work into compelling, funder-ready stories by crafting strong grant narratives, impact frameworks, and theory-of-change language
• Support the potential creation of a nonprofit entity by advising on nonprofit structures and suitability, and identifying foundations, institutions, and public programs aligned with the mission

This role helps unlock non-dilutive capital for climate impact by securing grant and nonprofit funding to support 4WARD's global climate collaboration network, turning climate ambition into real-world action and accelerating solutions.

Required skills and experience:

• 5+ years of experience securing grants or non-dilutive funding with demonstrated success with foundations, public funding, or institutional grants
• Experience working in or with European funding programs (Switzerland a plus) and hands-on experience with nonprofit funding and/or entity formation
• Strong grant writer with clear, persuasive storytelling skills and strategic thinking ability to understand funder psychology
• Outcome-driven, independent operator who can take full ownership and is mission-driven with genuine interest in climate, sustainability, and systems change
