Grants Manager

• Lead grants management strategy, optimization, and collaboration across the organization, including with Global Greengrants Fund UK.
• Maintain and update policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with US and UK regulations as well as local regulations for grantees.
• Serve as lead administrator for the grants management system (SmartSimple), ensuring data integrity and strengthening processes.
• Provide guidance and support to Grants Associates, addressing acute issues and identifying common challenges.

This role ensures that grassroots environmental and social justice activists worldwide receive funding efficiently and compliantly, enabling communities to protect their ways of life and the planet.

• Significant relevant experience in a similar role within a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights, and/or grantmaking organization.
• Strong expertise in grants management, including compliance, due diligence, and financial oversight, with deep understanding of international grantmaking regulations (IRS, HMRC, Charity Commission).
• Experience leading or strengthening grants management systems and processes, including oversight of grants management databases such as SmartSimple.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills; excellent organizational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
