Grant writer

Core responsibilities:

• Writing, submitting, and managing grant proposals
• Working with Executive Director to submit proposals
• Writing renewals and extensions for grants
• Identifying grant funding opportunities
• Following up with potential donors and keeping track of outreach to potential donors

This role supports Wafa House's mission to serve survivors of domestic violence through culturally sensitive services, helping secure funding for mental health, social services, and legal advocacy programs.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to meet strict deadlines
• Strong research skills

Compensation: $17/hour for 7 hours/week (part-time position). The role is fully remote.

Wafa House is a nonprofit organization that specializes in serving the needs of survivors of domestic violence with culturally sensitive approaches including clinical mental health services, social services, and legal advocacy and representation, primarily serving the Arab and Southeast Asian community in northern NJ.
