Government Relations, Policy & Partnerships Lead

• Implement BURN's government relations strategy at national and subnational levels, fostering relationships with ministries, regulators, and relevant public institutions.
• Monitor and analyze policy and regulatory developments affecting clean cooking, carbon markets, manufacturing, and energy access, preparing policy briefs and advocacy materials.
• Build partnerships with development partners, NGOs, private sector, and research institutions, identifying collaboration opportunities that support BURN's market and policy priorities.
• Support government-facing communications strategies, developing speeches and briefing notes for senior executives, and aligning public messaging with policy positions.

This role creates positive change by advocating for enabling policy environments that strengthen clean cooking adoption and carbon integrity, ultimately supporting energy access and environmental sustainability in Malawi.

• Good understanding of the policy environment and political processes in Malawi.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in government relations, policy engagement, and stakeholder development.
• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams including Carbon, Commercial, Legal, and Communications.
