Government Relations Manager

Core responsibilities for the Government Relations Manager role:

• Lead and manage government relations and advocacy efforts for the organization
• Develop and implement strategic advocacy campaigns to influence policy decisions
• Build and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, and stakeholders
• Monitor legislative developments and provide analysis and recommendations

This role creates positive change by influencing government policies and legislation to improve the treatment of animals and advance animal welfare protections through strategic advocacy and relationship-building with decision-makers.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Deep commitment to the organization's mission (animal welfare advocacy)
• Experience in advocacy work or political volunteering (in government, in government relations roles, in legislative change efforts, etc.)
• Legal/judicial background or public policy experience - advantageous
• Background in social/community engagement - advantageous
• Interest and knowledge in politics and activism
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, clarity and completeness of expression
• Ability to learn and work independently
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to lead and influence
• Good organizational skills

Compensation and work arrangement:

• Full-time position (possibility to work with flexible hours)
• Hybrid work model (partially from the organization's office in Tel Aviv and partially remote)
