General Counsel

Core Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements including membership agreements, MOUs, partnership agreements, grant agreements, vendor contracts, and confidentiality agreements
• Support the legal structure of GMA-led collective procurement initiatives and diligence processes for procurement respondents
• Develop and maintain contract templates, legal playbooks/SOPs, and risk frameworks to enable efficient program execution
• Advise program teams on legal considerations related to market activation including antitrust, competition, procurement, and information-sharing issues

This role creates positive change by providing legal support for innovative procurement solutions and multi-party collaborations that accelerate decarbonization in hard-to-abate sectors, helping companies move from climate commitments to actual investments in low- and zero-carbon solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar membership
• 5+ years of relevant legal experience in in-house legal roles, law firms, and/or nonprofit or public interest organizations
• Experience drafting and negotiating contracts
• Sound judgment and ability to balance legal risk with mission-driven objectives
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Interest in sustainability, climate action, or nonprofit administration

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary $150,000 - $250,000 dependent on qualifications and geographical location
• Eligibility for 20%+ year-end bonus
