How to Apply for Fullstack Developer (PL)
at Chooose
🏢 About Chooose
Chooose builds software to enable the lower carbon fuel value chain, directly contributing to the decarbonization of transportation and industry. Their mission-driven team works remotely, offering flexibility while tackling meaningful climate tech challenges. If you want to use your fullstack skills to fight climate change, Chooose is a unique opportunity.
About This Role
As a Fullstack Developer (PL), you'll maintain and scale complex front-end (React, Typescript) and back-end (C#/.NET) architecture, while creating accessible components for an internal Design System. You'll write unit/integration tests and own services end-to-end, making a direct impact on the platform that enables lower carbon fuel transactions.
💡 A Day in the Life
Start your day with an async standup on Slack, then dive into a sprint task – perhaps building a new accessible dropdown component for the design system. Mid-morning, you pair with a backend engineer to review a PR for a C# service scaling issue. After lunch, you write unit tests for your new component using Vitest, then wrap up by documenting your work and updating Jira. Your day ends with a quick sync with your team to discuss tomorrow's priorities.
🚀 Application Tools
🎯 Who Chooose Is Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, and C#/.NET, including scaling complex architectures
- Strong organizational and project management skills to independently own features and services
- Excellent verbal communication skills for collaborating in a remote, async team
- Critical problem-solving and meticulous attention to detail, especially in testing and design system work
📝 Tips for Applying to Chooose
Highlight specific experience with C#/.NET back-end and React/TypeScript front-end; mention any work on internal design systems or component libraries.
Showcase your testing philosophy: include examples of unit/integration tests you've written (e.g., with Vitest) and how they improved code quality.
Emphasize remote collaboration skills: mention tools like Slack, Jira, or async communication practices you've used.
Tailor your resume to the lower carbon fuel industry: if you have any experience in energy, sustainability, or climate tech, make it prominent.
Submit a cover letter that connects your personal values to Chooose's mission of decarbonization.
✉️ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter
['Your passion for climate tech and how your fullstack skills can accelerate the lower carbon fuel value chain', 'Specific examples of scaling complex services or maintaining large codebases', 'Experience with accessibility and design systems, especially creating reusable, user-friendly components', 'Your ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong project management']
Generate Cover Letter →🔍 Research Before Applying
To stand out, make sure you've researched:
- → Read about Chooose's product and how their software enables the lower carbon fuel value chain (e.g., book-and-claim, mass balance).
- → Understand the regulatory landscape for sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and renewable diesel – Chooose operates in this space.
- → Check out their engineering blog or any public talks to understand their tech stack and culture.
- → Look at their open positions and team page to see if you’d be working with people who have similar backgrounds.
💬 Prepare for These Interview Topics
Based on this role, you may be asked about:
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Don't apply without highlighting your C#/.NET experience – the job explicitly requires it, and many fullstack devs focus only on JS.
- Avoid generic cover letters; Chooose is mission-driven, so failing to mention why you care about climate tech can hurt your application.
- Don't neglect to mention testing experience – they specifically ask for Vitest/unit/integration tests, so skipping it suggests you don't prioritize quality.
