About the Role

The Freelance Senior Advocacy Officer will lead the strategic development and support of our volunteer advocacy network to drive meaningful change.

Responsibilities

• Lead the growth and development of the Change Maker volunteer network.
• Ensure volunteers are supported, empowered, and equipped to influence change at local, regional, and national levels.
• Work closely with the Policy Manager to design and implement a strategic plan for the network.
• Provide training, tools, and resources for volunteers to advocate effectively.

This role helps drive improvements in care pathways, raises public understanding of cardiomyopathy, and provides valuable input into policy development, ultimately ensuring everyone affected by cardiomyopathy receives timely diagnosis, high-quality care, and support.

Required skills and experience:

• Expertise in advocacy, campaigns, or volunteer engagement
• Strong project management skills
• Passion for supporting individuals and families affected by cardiomyopathy
• Ability to work as a 0.4 FTE freelance role with phased responsibilities
