Freelance Grant Writer

Core responsibilities:

• Research prospective grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and governmental sources
• Write and submit compelling cover letters, grant proposals, and letters of inquiry
• Prepare accurate and timely grant reports and follow-up documentation
• Maintain organized records of submissions and outcomes

This role supports fundraising efforts for a mobile food pantry that improves access to healthy food for underserved populations, directly contributing to hunger relief and community food security.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Proven experience writing successful grant proposals for nonprofits
• Strong research, writing, and editing skills
• Highly organized with attention to detail and strong deadline management
• Comfortable working independently on a freelance basis
• Experience with food security, hunger relief, or community-based nonprofits is a plus
• Familiarity with Salesforce and other common grant databases preferred

Compensation based on experience (hourly or per-project), flexible hours with deadline-based deliverables, and remote work.
