What you will drive
URL Collective seeks a senior fundraising professional to build and advance a focused pipeline of institutional and major donor funding. This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role. The Fractional Development Director will independently manage funding opportunities from prospect identification through cultivation, proposal development, submission, and award. This role is responsible for generating new revenue and advancing high-priority opportunities in partnership with organizational leadership. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a focused fundraising strategy aligned with revenue targets. Build and manage a prioritized pipeline of foundations and major donors. Lead funder outreach, cultivation meetings and follow up. Own proposal development and submission for opportunities they advance, in collaboration with the Director of Operations on budgets and materials. Advance opportunities through negotiation and toward awards. Partner with leadership and Board members to leverage relationships strategically. Develop donor-facing messaging and materials in collaboration with PR & Communications. Support targeted fundraising campaigns as needed. Success in the First 6โ12 Months Looks Like: A clear, executable fundraising strategy with a prioritized pipeline of new, aligned funders. Multiple competitive funding opportunities actively in motion and positioned for award. At least one fundraising campaign planned and executed (or actively underway) to raise funds for program initiatives and/or general operating needs. Required Skills and Experience 8+ years of institutional and/or major gift fundraising experience. Demonstrated success securing grants and gifts of $100K+, including multi-year funding commitments. Proven ability to identify, cultivate, and secure high-fit funding opportunities from prospecting through award. Experience developing and executing fundraising strategies for mission-driven organizations, ideally in media, journalism, civic engagement, or related social impact sectors. Strong track record of funder relationship-building, leading funder conversations and proposal development. Strategic, independent operator comfortable working in a fractional capacity. Preferred Preference for candidates who bring an existing network of philanthropic and institutional relationships relevant to URL Collectiveโs mission and focus areas.
