Mission

What you will drive

As the Founding Managing Director for New York City, you will:

  • Build Compass Pro Bono's operations, funding, and reputation across the New York City region, establishing it as the go-to capacity-building partner for local nonprofits and business professionals
  • Recruit, cultivate, and steward New York City nonprofits and volunteers for all Compass Pro Bono programs (estimated 30-50 nonprofits & 75-120 volunteers in year 1)
  • Raise a minimum of $500,000 from New York City sources in your first 3 years, then grow annual fundraising year over year to support program needs and growth
  • Establish and execute on a strategic vision to build and scale Compass New York City, including brand presence, programming quality, and partnerships

Profile

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications and experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience as a nonprofit executive, corporate leader, relationship manager, nonprofit fundraiser, or any combination of the above
  • Demonstrated expertise and success in nonprofit fundraising, strategic visioning and execution, and nonprofit Board facilitation
  • Strong relationship-building and relationship-management skills with experience working with nonprofits, volunteers, and funders
  • Passion for Compass Pro Bono's mission and experience as a skills-based volunteer or working in a nonprofit/social impact organization strongly preferred
