Fire Protection Engineer

• Establish fire protection requirements that inform plant design
• Develop Fire Hazard Analyses, Fire Protection Program, First Safe Shutdown Analyses, and other licensing and design documentation
• Define equipment architecture, specifications, operational modes, and performance criteria
• Lead the design of fire protection equipment and perform commissioning and testing of fire protection systems

This role directly contributes to the safe and reliable operation of advanced fission power plants, enabling clean energy production and reducing reliance on fossil fuels, thereby combating climate change.

• Engineering education in Fire Protection, Nuclear, Chemical, or Mechanical
• Experience performing design of fire protection systems in nuclear, petroleum, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries
• Knowledgeable in nuclear facility fire protection design and operations under NRC or DOE license
• Experienced with NFPA 804 or NFPA 850, and IBC or IFC standards
