What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Supervise and process day-to-day financial operations, including accurate recording, allocation, coding, reconciliations, and documentation of all transactions
  • Work closely with external bookkeepers and accountants to ensure accurate monthly reconciliations, support VAT returns preparation, and address financial queries
  • Produce regular management accounts on an accrual basis to support internal decision-making and provide financial interpretation to Directors and stakeholders
  • Support preparation of statutory accounts alongside external accountants and auditors
  • Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accurate updates with external providers and tracking statutory payments

Profile

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector (ideally international charities)
  • Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK charity financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Beacon, Xero) and Excel
  • Experience with budget development and financial reporting for trusts, foundations, or institutional funders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
