How to Apply for Finance Accountant (m/f/x)

at Makersite

๐Ÿข About Makersite

Makersite is an AI-driven platform that accelerates eco-friendly product development for manufacturers, achieving results 40x faster than traditional methods. Working here means contributing to a mission-driven startup that combines cutting-edge technology with sustainability, offering a remote-first culture and the chance to impact global supply chains.

About This Role

As a Finance Accountant at Makersite, you will own the end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate financial records and timely payments. Your work directly supports the company's rapid growth by maintaining cash flow and enabling data-driven decisions, all while working remotely across Germany.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

You start your day by reviewing bank transactions and reconciling them in the ERP. Mid-morning, you process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding, then issue customer invoices and follow up on overdue accounts. After lunch, you assist with month-end accruals and prepare reports for the finance team, ending the day by planning payment runs and updating cash flow forecasts.

๐ŸŽฏ Who Makersite Is Looking For

  • You have 5โ€“7 years of accounting experience with deep expertise in German GAAP (HGB) and a certification like Bilanzbuchhalter/in or CPA.
  • You are highly proficient in DATEV and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics), and can handle complex reconciliations and month-end close independently.
  • You possess excellent Excel skills for data analysis and reporting, and can communicate fluently in both German and English.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, remote startup environment, taking ownership of tasks and proactively improving processes.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to Makersite

1

Tailor your resume to highlight hands-on experience with DATEV and ERP systems, especially if you've worked with Microsoft Dynamics.

2

In your cover letter, explicitly mention your familiarity with HGB and provide an example of a month-end close or audit preparation you led.

3

Showcase any experience in a remote or distributed team, emphasizing your self-discipline and communication skills.

4

Include specific metrics, such as the volume of invoices processed or payment cycles managed, to demonstrate efficiency.

5

Research Makersite's product and mention how your accounting work supports their sustainability mission in your application.
