How to Apply for Field Operations Specialist (f/m/x)
at IONITY
🏢 About IONITY
IONITY is a joint venture of major automotive manufacturers (BMW Group, Ford Motor Company, Hyundai Motor Group, Mercedes-Benz Group, and Volkswagen Group) focused exclusively on building Europe's leading high-power charging network for electric vehicles. Unlike generic EV charging companies, IONITY specializes in long-distance travel with strategically placed stations along major highways, making it uniquely positioned to transform cross-border EV journeys. Working here means contributing directly to Europe's sustainable mobility transition with backing from industry giants.
About This Role
As a Field Operations Specialist at IONITY, you'll be the central nervous system for maintaining Europe-wide fast-charging network uptime, coordinating between monitoring systems, field engineers, and service partners across multiple countries. This role is impactful because every minute of charging station downtime affects real EV drivers on long journeys, making your coordination directly tied to customer satisfaction and IONITY's reputation as a reliable travel partner. You'll own operational tickets end-to-end, balancing technical troubleshooting with stakeholder management to keep Europe's EV highways running smoothly.
💡 A Day in the Life
Your day typically starts by reviewing overnight monitoring alerts from IONITY's network across Europe, prioritizing tickets based on station criticality and travel patterns. You might coordinate a warranty repair with a hardware manufacturer in Italy while simultaneously tracking spare parts shipment for an out-of-warranty case in Sweden, documenting all actions in the ticketing system. Throughout the day, you'll bridge communication between field engineers on-site, service partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring each intervention aligns with network availability targets before closing tickets with proper documentation.

- Shows strong self-organization skills for remote work, with examples of managing multiple tickets/priorities across time zones without direct supervision
- Possesses fluency in English plus at least one other European language (German, French, Spanish, or Scandinavian languages would be particularly valuable for coordinating across IONITY's network)

Demonstrate your remote work discipline by describing your home office setup, communication routines, and time management strategies for distributed teams
Include any experience coordinating with hardware manufacturers (like ABB, Tritium, or Alpitronic) or service partners in technical fields
