Field Engineer - Power Infrastructure

Core responsibilities:

• Lead field commissioning and system validation activities from mechanical completion through substantial completion, including equipment startup, functional testing, and technical validation of performance for electrical and control systems.
• Resolve technical issues and ensure design alignment by acting as the primary technical liaison between engineering, construction, and quality teams, providing oversight for redlines, as-built documentation, and engineering-related change requests.
• Strengthen field standards and reduce rework by standardizing, documenting, and refining field processes, checklists, and turnover protocols to improve execution consistency across project sites.
• Support safe, high-quality project execution by partnering with HSE, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient field execution, with frequent travel to multiple sites for technical support and coordination.

This role accelerates the energy transition by ensuring complex large-scale power infrastructure projects are built, commissioned, and energized to the highest technical and safety standards, turning designs into operational assets that contribute to a cleaner future.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Technical proficiency in electrical engineering, power systems, and commissioning practices, with experience working with high-voltage, medium-voltage, and/or low-voltage equipment and commissioning workflows.
• Working knowledge of utility interconnection requirements and substation commissioning standards, with ability to interpret and troubleshoot relay trip events, logic diagrams, coordination studies, and protection schemes.
• Experience with SEL protective relays and configuration tools, and ability to install and configure owner-provided equipment and related IT hardware.
• Strong communication skills, reliability, independence, and adaptability for coordinating across engineering, construction, utility, and EPC stakeholders with frequent travel and limited supervision, plus an engineering degree or equivalent technical training.

Total Compensation: $185,000-$195,000 (base salary + bonus in USD)
