What you will drive

The Queen's University Engineering Society, as a member of the Engineering Student Societies' Council of Ontario (ESSCO) and the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES) gains two main opportunities for students: 

1) Sending student delegates to conferences to learn, network and grow

2) Engaging remotely with the offerings of CFES and ESSCO (for example, by taking up volunteer roles within CFES and ESSCO)

Facilitating student engagement in the offerings of ESSCO and CFES is a primary responsibility of the Director of External Relations, and in order to help grow Queen's Engineering Students' awareness-of and knowledge in the opportunities available, the following responsibilities are to be seen to, locally at Queen's, by the External Relations Team:

  • Manage Promotional and Informational Events about ESSCO and CFES for Queen's Engineering Students
    • Create a Promotional Strategic Plan
    • Organize and run events to promote ESSCO and CFES
  • Manage Social Media & Publicity about ESSCO and CFES for Queen's Engineering Students
    • Manage the External Relations Instagram (Currently @queens_ExCC)
    • Create promotional material to publicize upcoming events and opportunities (including external conferences)
  • Manage Delegate Feedback Organization and Streamlining
    • Collect and Organize delegate feedback for easy review
    • Assist in scheduling and coordination of delegates (ie. for pre-conference training) and the External Communications Committee

Recommended skills include:

  • The ability to manage and work with a team
  • Time management and logistical planning skills
  • Passion and enthusiasm about the Queen's Engineering Society
  • A strong work ethic and self-motivation
  • Creativity and desire to implement new ideas


Applications are due Monday, March 27th @11:59 pm, and interviews are scheduled to take place on March 29th from 5pm-9pm and March 30th and 31st between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
