Executive Director

Core responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operations including vendors, consultants, volunteers, organizational systems, and technology
• Develop strategic vision and goals in collaboration with the board, and implement strategies to increase organizational visibility
• Build and maintain relationships with clinics, strategic partners, allies, and supporters to advance the mission
• Oversee program management, fundraising initiatives, financial management, and serve as primary spokesperson

This role creates positive change by leading Rhode Island's only abortion fund to increase access to abortion, contraception, and emergency contraception for residents regardless of economic status, removing financial and logistical barriers to reproductive healthcare.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or minimum 5-years' equivalent experience with 5-10 years in project management
• Proven record of successful fundraising in the nonprofit sector and experience engaging/managing nonprofit boards
• Background in abortion access work, health center/clinic setting, or organizations focusing on mutual aid, LGBTQ+ issues, racial justice, public health, or reproductive health
• Strong administrative, project management, financial management, public speaking, and communication skills

Salary: $75,000-$90,000 annually

Benefits: $500/month health insurance stipend, 6 weeks (240 hours) paid time off, and 15 holidays/closure days

Rhode Island Abortion Fund (RIAF) is a mutual aid fund and reproductive justice organization dedicated to supporting Rhode Islanders who choose abortion or contraceptive care but cannot afford the cost, working to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access.
