Executive Director

Core responsibilities:

• Build and sustain a diverse funding base with focus on private individuals and large foundations; cultivate donor relationships and secure multi-year support
• Define and execute organizational strategy with measurable objectives that advance Generation Patient's mission; ensure alignment of all programs and advocacy efforts
• Lead an agile, efficient nonprofit team; directly supervise staff while fostering growth, collaboration, and accountability
• Establish policy strategy and remain committed to increasing influence of young adults with chronic conditions on national and international stages

This role creates positive change by guiding Generation Patient through its transition from founder-led to its next growth chapter, overseeing all aspects of the organization to sustain and scale impact for the 25+ million young adults with chronic and rare conditions, strategically driving systems-level change across healthcare and research.

Required skills and experience:

• Significant prior relevant experience with direct supervision of staff and/or consultants
• Experience in direct fundraising and interacting with funders (reference from funder required)
• Strong skills in policy analysis and understanding of complex policy and legal documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfort representing organization in various settings
• Analytic and problem-solving skills; ability to understand community needs and strategically align work
• Proven emotional intelligence and advanced conflict management expertise

Salary: $125,000-$140,000 (depending on experience)

Position is fully remote with work environment based on personal home office. Must be willing to have availability outside of 9-5 p.m. EST for international work and to accommodate West Coast staff when needed.
