Executive Director

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of staff and operations, ensuring alignment with CDI's mission and strategic plan.
• Lead resource development efforts, including building relationships with donors and foundations, and overseeing grant proposals and reports.
• Foster a participatory management culture, supervise direct reports, and ensure sound financial practices and compliance.
• Build external relationships, advocate for cooperative-friendly policies, and serve as the link between the Board and staff.

This role advances the cooperative movement in the Northeast, creating democratically owned enterprises that build a prosperous, equitable economy and empower communities.

• Minimum 7 years of executive leadership experience in economic, small business, community, or cooperative development.
• Nonprofit management experience including supervising teams, budgeting, fundraising, and working with a Board of Directors.
• Knowledge of innovative economic and community development models, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Ability to travel periodically throughout the Northeast; competency with GSuite, Zoom, and remote meetings.

Salary: $110,000–120,000 depending on experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, holidays; and employer retirement contribution.
