ERCOT Market Lead, Transmission Strategy

This role serves as the principal Transmission Strategy lead for ERCOT and possibly additional continental US energy markets, responsible for:

• Setting transmission-focused market-wide strategy across all Continental U.S. energy markets and integrating that strategy across AES teams
• Applying strategy to prioritize greenfield efforts, project acquisition efforts, and existing project pipeline
• Conducting project-specific assessment of network impacts, deliverability risks and opportunities
• Supporting all stages of development from greenfield prospecting through late-stage interconnection studies and agreement execution

This role contributes to AES's commitment to meeting the Paris Agreement's goals by 2050 and driving rapid global decarbonization through innovative energy solutions and transmission strategy for renewable energy projects.

Required skills and experience:

• Deep relevant experience in transmission planning, market design, interconnection policy, resource adequacy and/or market operations
• Experience personally running power flow and stability analysis (powerGEM TARA, Powerworld, GE PSLF, Siemens PSS/E)
• Experience personally running nodal production cost modeling (PROMOD, UPLAN, GE MAPS, Aurora) and evaluating dispatch trends, curtailment trends and pricing trends
• Experience with ISO/RTO/TO Transmission Planning, Generation Interconnection, and related stakeholder processes
