Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Core responsibilities:

• Manage activities related to the facility's environmental permits, programs, and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies
• Assess compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and act as an advisor to internal customers
• Prepare permit applications, modifications, and regulatory reporting
• Conduct environmental inspections and support corrective actions

This role helps ensure environmental compliance and responsible waste management, contributing to Republic Services' mission of creating a more sustainable world through proper handling of recycling, waste, and hazardous materials.

Required qualifications:

• Knowledge of environmental regulations including hazardous waste, solid waste, water, and air
• Experience in regulatory environment compliance in hazardous waste, solid waste, water, and air
• Analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and work under pressure
