What you will drive
The Engineering Review Board (ERB) is the primary dispute-resolution body of the Engineering Society, providing a neutral third-party perspective to Society matters where appropriate. The team primarily operates the Engineering Societies grievance process and supports maintaining & reviewing Engineering Society Governing Documents. Additional focus this year will be put on maintaining a precedent document for ERB decisions, and acting as a resource for students looking to understand governing documents better.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Leadership skills
- Conflict Resolution skills
- An interest in policies and procedures (think lawyer!)
- Strong communication skills
As the ERB Deputy Chair you will be primarily responsible for:
- Stepping in for the ERB Chair when they have a conflict of interest with a grievance or are absent for the resolution.
- Potentially being delegated to attend council on behalf of the ERB.
- Helping hire the general members with the ERB Chair
Otherwise the Deputy Chair has an active role within the team to support the resolution of grievances.
