Mission

What you will drive

The Engineering Review Board (ERB) is the primary dispute-resolution body of the Engineering Society, providing a neutral third-party perspective to Society matters where appropriate. The team primarily operates the Engineering Societies grievance process and supports maintaining & reviewing Engineering Society Governing Documents. Additional focus this year will be put on maintaining a precedent document for ERB decisions, and acting as a resource for students looking to understand governing documents better.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Leadership skills
  • Conflict Resolution skills
  • An interest in policies and procedures (think lawyer!)
  • Strong communication skills

As the ERB Deputy Chair you will be primarily responsible for:

  • Stepping in for the ERB Chair when they have a conflict of interest with a grievance or are absent for the resolution.
  • Potentially being delegated to attend council on behalf of the ERB.
  • Helping hire the general members with the ERB Chair

Otherwise the Deputy Chair has an active role within the team to support the resolution of grievances.

Deadline to apply: Thursday, March 26th at 10:00 PM

If you have any questions about the position feel free to contact Jordan Belainsky (president @engsoc.queensu.ca) or Kate Lehner (erb @engsoc.queensu.ca).
