Engineer, Reliability

Core responsibilities:

• Analyze reliability and availability of solar plus storage hardware and components including substations
• Perform root cause analysis for equipment failures and remediate with external parties as needed
• Lead and facilitate major repairs to operational sites
• Evaluate operational sites for repowering and retrofit opportunities including cost benefit analysis
• Implement new practices to improve uptime and efficiency
• Support SAP Master Data upkeep, and new site implementation using best reliability practices

This role contributes to accelerating a safer and greener energy future by improving the reliability and efficiency of renewable energy systems, helping AES meet Paris Agreement goals by 2050 and providing reliable, affordable electric power to communities worldwide.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or equivalent technical field
• 2+ years professional experience in engineering with a focus on measuring and maintaining equipment reliability, with an emphasis on HV/MV grid connected systems
• Experience with root cause and failure modes analysis methods
• Experience with reliability metric calculations, MTBF, MTTR, Weibull, etc.
• Proficiency with reading and understanding equipment/facility schematics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office software suite
• Experience in using results of data analytics and database tools
• High degree of dedication to a quality safety culture and an incident-free work environment
• Willingness to travel within the U.S. to support company's portfolio of PV solar/BESS assets

Compensation and benefits:

• Expected salary range: $94,000 - $112,625 annually
