Mission

What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide employment-related legal advice and counseling to nonprofit organizational clients
  • Represent clients on employment law matters including legal obligations, employee matters, drafting employment materials, and reviewing personnel policies
  • Advise on other nonprofit operations areas such as governance, contracts, non-discrimination obligations, program spin-offs, and member codes of conduct
  • Help clients navigate the law in ways that reflect and further their values

Profile

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • 7+ years of employment and/or labor law experience, preferably including counseling and advice
  • Experience with broad range of employment law topics: anti-discrimination, wage and hour, family/medical leave, employment contracts, discipline/separations
  • Strong academic credentials, excellent writing and communication skills, sound judgment
  • DC Bar membership or eligibility for admission
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations and operational issues is a plus
  • Employee benefits or labor law expertise is desirable
