Editorial Manager

Responsibilities / What You'll Do

• Translate organizational strategy, program work, and impact into compelling content and stories that drive fundraising, engagement, and visibility
• Lead media relations, including securing media placement that supports RFUS and partner initiatives, and serve as a key spokesperson
• Co-lead the development and execution of RFUS's annual communication strategy in support of 2030 goals, setting clear measurable goals
• Manage RFUS editorial calendar and production timelines, ensuring consistency in message, tone, and branding across all platforms

This role creates compelling content that helps raise funds needed to expand RFUS's work and increase its impact for Indigenous peoples, forests, and climate, shaping how the organization communicates its mission and impact.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Exceptional English writing and editing abilities in various formats (press releases, social media, formal reports, feature stories)
• Fluency in Spanish required (Portuguese is a plus) and knowledge of common style guides (AP or Chicago Manual of Style)
• Significant experience in communications campaigns and marketing with highly developed project management and organizational skills
• Cultural competency and commitment to working respectfully with Indigenous partners and multicultural teams
