Ecologists, Naturalists, and Taxonomic Experts for the Pantanal, Brazil (remote / flexible / part-time role)

• Identification of species from the Pantanal, Brazil, through high-resolution images (plants and/or mammals) or acoustic data (birds, bats, and/or frogs) shared online.
• Support the design of biodiversity surveys and help train machine learning models by annotating image and/or acoustic data.
• Provide feedback on data collection methods to improve automated identification using machine learning.

Your expertise will help protect nature by providing robust evidence, and together, we will build the most detailed set of annotated, species-level biodiversity data ever compiled.

• Expertise in identifying birds, bats, or frogs from acoustic data, or plants or mammals from high-resolution images.
• Ability to add species labels to audio or image files to name the species present.
• Experience in ecology, naturalism, or taxonomy, particularly related to the Pantanal, Brazil.

• Paid role that can be done online, remotely from anywhere, at any time.
• Project-based work ranging from 5 to 40 hours per week based on availability.
• Hourly rate of pay agreed upon based on needs and experience.
