Mission

What you will drive

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead Eastern Pennsylvania initiatives: Plan, implement, and manage HAP's advocacy and programmatic efforts in Philadelphia and the surrounding region, in alignment with statewide priorities.
  • Campaign strategy and execution: Develop and implement comprehensive campaign plans, including objectives, strategies, timelines, and measurable outcomes; track progress and adapt strategies as needed.
  • Legislative and policy engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with legislators, government staff, and key decision-makers; attend meetings, conduct research, make advocacy calls, and draft correspondence and testimony as needed.
  • Coalition and stakeholder development: Build and sustain relationships with local organizations, advocates, community leaders, and allied groups to strengthen regional coalitions and advance shared goals.

Required skills, experience, qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and oversee advocacy or programmatic campaigns from inception through completion.
  • Strong understanding of animal protection issues in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania, including the local political and advocacy landscape.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies to advance policy, programmatic, or community-based goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage legislators, coalition partners, volunteers, and the general public.

Benefits

What's in it for you

Compensation: $2,250 - $2,500 per month, commensurate with experience. This position does not include benefits.
