Distributed Organizing Director (candidates can be based anywhere in the US)

Core responsibilities:

• Recruit and manage volunteers in Climate Defiance chapters across key U.S. cities
• Establish new Climate Defiance chapters and provide ongoing coaching to volunteers and leaders
• Organize and coordinate direct actions in multiple cities, including nonviolent protests and creative demonstrations
• Conduct trainings for volunteers and help them take on leadership roles within the organization

This role creates positive change by building grassroots pressure on political leaders and corporate executives to elevate climate change as a top political issue, helping to stop fossil fuel expansion and hold decision-makers accountable for their climate stance.

Required qualifications:

• Minimum two years of organizing or campaigning experience
• Experience managing teams of volunteers
• Participation in or leadership of nonviolent direct actions (protests, strikes, sit-ins, blockades)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with minimal oversight
• Flexibility for travel (25% expected) and site visits

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary: $62,400 annually
