Distributed Organizing Director (candidates can be based anywhere in the US)

Core responsibilities:

• Recruit and manage volunteers in Climate Defiance chapters across key U.S. cities
• Establish new Climate Defiance chapters and provide ongoing coaching to volunteers and leaders
• Organize and coordinate direct actions in multiple cities, including nonviolent protests and disruptive actions
• Conduct trainings for volunteers and handle administrative tasks like tracking outreach and turnout

This role elevates climate change as a top political issue in the U.S. through direct actions and grassroots pressure, helping to hold decision-makers accountable and drive systemic change on one of the most critical issues of our time.

Required qualifications:

• Minimum two years of organizing or campaigning experience
• Experience managing teams of volunteers and participating in nonviolent direct actions
• Strong communication skills and flexibility for travel (25% expected)
• Commitment to social change, racial, economic, and environmental justice

Salary: $62,400 annually with additional benefits including unlimited vacation (20 days plus Christmas week encouraged), group healthcare, and a 401(k) with 3% employer contribution.
