Distributed Organizing Director (candidates can be based anywhere in the US)

Core responsibilities:

• Recruit and manage volunteers in Climate Defiance chapters across key U.S. cities
• Establish new Climate Defiance chapters and provide ongoing coaching to volunteers and leaders
• Organize and coordinate direct actions in multiple cities, including travel for site visits and actions
• Handle administrative tasks such as tracking volunteer outreach and turnout

This role creates positive change by building volunteer-led chapters and coordinating direct actions that challenge corporate executives and elected officials on climate issues, helping elevate climate change as a top political priority in the U.S.

Required qualifications:

• Minimum two years of organizing or campaigning experience
• Experience managing teams of volunteers
• Participation in or leadership of nonviolent direct actions (creative protests, strikes, sit-ins, blockades)
• Strong communication skills and flexibility for travel (25% expected)
