Director of Industry Engagement

Core responsibilities:

• Build and strengthen the Association by recruiting new members and engaging current members
• Secure sponsors for the NY Solar + Storage Summit and regional events
• Work with NYSEIA leadership to identify and engage solar + storage companies to increase their participation and support for policy efforts and events
• Engage solar and storage industry leaders to strengthen the industry through their support and participation

This role strengthens the solar and storage industry by engaging companies to support policy efforts and events, advancing clean energy adoption in New York.

Required qualifications:

• New York State resident with valid driver's license and ability to travel 20% of the time
• Bachelor's degree (additional relevant work experience is an acceptable substitute)
• At least 2-4 years of experience in sales, marketing or business development
• At least 2 years of experience in the solar + storage industry with knowledge of rooftop and community solar sectors
• Strong communication skills and comfort approaching members via phone, email, Zoom, and in-person meetings
• Ability to make sales with individuals at all types of companies including nonprofits, startups, and large corporations
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom, and CRM
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong organizational abilities
• Team player with ability to receive and incorporate feedback
• Passion for clean energy, collaborative spirit, and sense of humor

On target earnings of $100,000 including $65,000 base salary and generous quarterly commissions based on achievement of sales and member engagement targets.
