Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Own CDI's accounting function, including oversight of an external bookkeeping firm, and oversee the monthly and year-end close process
- Strengthen internal controls, oversee spend management, and improve financial workflows by integrating and optimizing systems such as QBO, HubSpot, and Stripe
- Oversee expense tracking by program, grant, and donor restriction, and ensure compliance with required registrations, filings, and reporting at local, state, and federal levels
- Prepare monthly financial reports and insights for internal leadership, and support the VP of Operations with forecasting, dashboards, and cash flow monitoring

What makes you a great fit
Required skills and experience:
- 7–10 years of progressive nonprofit finance or accounting experience, or equivalent, with deep and broad understanding of nonprofit finance and compliance topics
- Excellent judgment and autonomy, able to move work forward independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while being mindful of risk and compliance
- Systems thinker and tech-savvy, with experience building systems from scratch and improving existing ones, and a genuine interest in leveraging technology to automate and streamline workflows
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a high bar for accuracy, compliance, and clean financial records, and skilled at organizing complex work
