Director of Development

• Lead and grow the fundraising program, building upon and evolving the fundraising strategy.
• Drive revenue through individual giving, major gifts, grants, and institutional funding.
• Steward donor relationships and maintain systems to sustain and scale fundraising work.
• Carry out day-to-day fundraising activities including donor stewardship, campaign delivery, reporting, grant coordination, CRM oversight, and administration.

This role directly supports We Animals' mission to end the use of animals by humans by securing the financial resources needed to drive advocacy, campaigns, and systemic change for animal welfare.

• Experience leading fundraising programs that include individual giving, major gifts, grants, and institutional funding.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels, setting direction while delivering on campaigns, donor communications, stewardship, reporting, and administration.
• Strong understanding of donor retention, donor journeys, stewardship, segmentation, and relationship-based fundraising.
• Keen interest in evolving fundraising tactics and tools, including the use of AI.

Full-time permanent position at 40 hours per week, flexible hourly schedule. Remote work with preference for candidates overlapping Eastern Time. Salary: $95,000 to $115,000 CAD annually.
