Director of Development

Core responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the organization's ambitious vision and goals
• Cultivate relationships, facilitate engagement opportunities, and solicit contributions from a portfolio of new and existing donors
• Establish and implement the infrastructure needed to reach fundraising goals through partnerships, individual donors, grants, and events
• Serve as a trusted thought partner to the Executive Director, driving organizational priorities and delivering timely fundraising projections and updates

This role creates positive change by leading fundraising efforts that support Black Men Vote's mission to empower, educate, and mobilize Black men to build lasting change in communities, ensuring Black men's voices drive lasting change in the political arena.

Required skills and experience:

• 8+ years of political and nonprofit fundraising, including experience developing plans in multi-channel fundraising, ideally in a mix of 527, 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations
• Experience building strong relationships with institutional and individual donors and prospects
• Strong command of fundraising best practices and demonstrated success building processes and donor management systems to steward funders
• Demonstrated success in managing and growing a robust fundraising portfolio of donors
