Director of Data Strategy

• Own how Basta measures and monitors progress toward its goals, defining metrics and building dashboards that non-technical teams use.
• Partner with Development to translate outcomes data into compelling narratives for funders and grant reporting.
• Build and maintain data infrastructure including pipelines, warehouse, and integrations, while evaluating emerging tools.
• Proactively surface trends, gaps, and opportunities across programs and partnerships to inform leadership decisions.

This role directly advances economic mobility for first-generation students by ensuring data-driven decisions that improve career outcomes, making Basta's programs more effective and scalable.

• Strong hands-on SQL skills and solid experience in data analysis, with ability to translate findings into actionable insights.
• Experience building dashboards and BI tools for non-technical audiences, and experience in the nonprofit or impact sector with program evaluation and funder reporting.
• Ability to tell stories with data, think in systems, and work across teams to build trust and translate between technical and non-technical collaborators.
• Approximately 8–10 years of professional data experience, with meaningful time in the nonprofit or impact sector.

Remote eligible with NYC preferred; ability to travel to NYC 4-6 times/year required. Compensation not specified.
