Director of Complex Family Planning

Core responsibilities:

• Provide vision- and values-aligned leadership to advance the Complex Family Planning subspeciality, including developing multi-year program plans, managing Fellowship pipeline development, and championing DEI practices in subspecialty programming.
• Advance new healthcare programs by assessing healthcare challenges, exploring growth areas, cultivating strategic relationships, and ensuring DEI practices across all healthcare programming.
• Foster organizational health and development by sustaining organizational culture, supervising staff, supporting the Annual Meeting, leading fundraising efforts, and applying clinical knowledge to program design.

This role creates positive change by advancing just and equitable abortion and contraception through science and medicine, ensuring evidence-informed and person-centered care, and supporting the Complex Family Planning subspeciality to transform healthcare systems.

Required qualifications:

• Palpable enthusiasm for leveraging science and medicine tools, with insight into clinicians' and scientific societies' roles in shaping science and medicine.
• Demonstrated knowledge of modern program infrastructure (e.g., Asana, Slack, Google Workspace) and ability to use data and systems for program execution and improvement.
• At least five years of director-level experience leading teams of three or larger in a nonprofit setting, with commitment to inspiring and motivating teams.
• At least five years of experience leading DEI initiatives in a nonprofit setting, with self-awareness and responsiveness to learning edges.
• High computer literacy with confidence using Microsoft/Google suites, Asana, Box, Slack, and other digital platforms.
