• Provide strategic vision and leadership to advance the Fund's mission and achieve its next chapter of growth
• Galvanize funders and lead resource development efforts to mobilize investment in civic information
• Serve as an exceptional partner, thought leader, and field builder representing the Fund across North Carolina and nationally
• Foster a cohesive, engaged, and impactful team while overseeing operational excellence

This role creates positive change by building a more inclusive news and information ecosystem in North Carolina, ensuring all residents have access to credible, relevant local news they can trust to thrive in a thriving democracy.

• Experienced overseeing nonprofit operations, including budget development and financial sustainability
• Effective fundraiser with proven track record of donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
• Proven ability to lead, support, and empower a capable team while fostering trust and accountability
• Deep understanding of and passion for nurturing inclusive news and information ecosystems

Salary range: $145,000-175,000 with fully paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance. The Fund offers a 4.5-day work week, 15 days of annual paid vacation time (increases to 20 after one year), accrued paid sick time, 13 paid holidays, 4% 401k match, and year-end closure for approximately two weeks.

The North Carolina Local News Lab Fund is a pooled fund working to build a more inclusive news and information ecosystem in North Carolina by funding community-serving organizations, expanding distribution, and telling complete stories of the state's diverse communities.
