Core responsibilities:

• Serve as an international leader in the field of intelligent systems research
• Pursue an ambitious research agenda within their department
• Lead the institute jointly with other director colleagues
• Contribute to the institute's research in areas like machine learning, robotics, natural language understanding, small-scale robotics, self-organization, haptic perception, bio-inspired systems, medical robotics, and robotic materials

This role advances cutting-edge research in intelligent systems that could lead to breakthroughs in robotics, machine learning, and related technologies, contributing to scientific progress and potential future applications in fields like medicine and materials science.
