Lime is hiring a Director, Global Compensation to join our Total Rewards and HR team! In this role, you will lead the design, governance, analytics, operations, and continuous improvement of Lime’s global compensation programs. You will manage the Compensation Team and serve as a strategic partner to People, Finance, Legal, Payroll, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and other business leaders.

This role is central to building a competitive, equitable, scalable, and well-governed compensation approach for a global public company. You will combine strategic program leadership with hands-on operating discipline across broad-based compensation, annual compensation cycles, compensation operations, analytics, and systems. You will also support the Head of Total Rewards with executive compensation and preparation of Compensation Committee materials.

Lime is at an exciting inflection point as we scale rapidly toward our next stage of growth. As we grow our category leadership, we are transitioning to a more structured, high-performing organization and need someone who thrives in this evolution. The ideal candidate has experience scaling teams, products, or processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can balance execution with strategy. In this role, you will help design and implement systems that enable us to move quickly while maintaining quality and efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact as we build the foundation for long-term success.

This is a remote position with a preference for candidates residing in the United States to maintain effective collaboration across teams. This position requires occasional travel to support business operations, which is considered an essential function of the role. Lime provides reasonable accommodations if necessary.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the global compensation function, driving the design and execution of programs including broad-based pay, annual cycles, and equity partnership.

  • Manage, coach, and develop the Compensation team, fostering a high-performing team culture with clear role clarity, quality standards, and professional development.

  • Translate Total Rewards philosophy into competitive, equitable, and accessible compensation policies, programs, and communications.

  • Build and manage a durable analytics and reporting capability, leveraging scenario modeling to inform workforce planning and leadership recommendations.

  • Optimize compensation operations and systems, including Workday configuration, data governance, and scalable process improvements.

  • Support executive compensation and Compensation Committee work by preparing materials, benchmarking, and analyses.

  • Serve as a strategic partner to internal teams and advise HRBPs, leaders, and Talent Acquisition on pay philosophy, offers, and strategy.

  • Lead efforts in pay equity, pay transparency, and public-company regulatory readiness, ensuring all practices remain compliant.

About You:

  • 10+ years of progressive compensation experience with increasing scope and leadership responsibility, including experience in a high-growth technology, mobility, marketplace, or other complex global company; public-company experience is strongly preferred.

  • Deep expertise in broad-based compensation and annual compensation cycles, including salary structures, market pricing, merit, promotions, bonus programs, equity partnership, budgeting, calibration, and pay equity.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing analysts or other compensation professionals while also operating as a hands-on subject-matter expert.

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including advanced Excel or Google Sheets capabilities and experience translating complex data into clear recommendations for senior leaders.

  • Experience with Workday or a comparable HRIS and compensation technology, including data governance, reporting, planning, integrations, controls, and process improvement.

  • Excellent judgment, communication, discretion, organization, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence across People, Finance, Legal, Payroll, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and executive leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Human Resources, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience supporting executive compensation benchmarking, Compensation Committee materials, proxy or public-company disclosure processes, compensation consultants, and global pay transparency or regulatory initiatives.

  • Experience using automation, analytics, or approved AI tools to improve compensation operations while protecting confidential employee and company information and maintaining appropriate human review.

U.S. Based Position - What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive Health & Wellness: A choice of medical, dental, and vision plans. We also provide company-paid life and disability insurance and company-funded mental health benefits.

  • Financial & Retirement Planning: 401(k) plan with both pre-tax and Roth options, and access to a Health Savings Account (HSA) with a monthly company contribution.

  • Family & Fertility Support: Paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents, plus fertility and family-forming benefits.

  • Paid Time Off: Unlimited vacation, paid leaves, and 10 company holidays.

  • Unique Lime Perks: Complimentary use of Lime vehicles in participating cities, a monthly phone allowance, dedicated learning and development days, and access to perks including One Medical, Wellhub, and Headspace.
